Damansara Utama or otherwise known as Uptown, is a happening suburb in Petaling Jaya with a few new developments like the latest Starling mall and Somerset serviced apartments. When it comes to eateries, you are spoiled for choices as there are way too many of them. From a typical mamak, to fast food chains, hawkers, cafés, desserts, you name it. A happening place like this also means that parking is a challenge. As such, there’s only 3 reasons why I would drag myself there; 1) Village Park Nasi Lemak, 2) simply looking for a café for an ang moh brunch, 3) Desserts!! Best Western Premier Ion Delemen is the latest resort up in the hills of Genting Highlands. It is a new development just a few kilometers from activities such as golf, casino, shopping, theme park and more. Although it has a 5-star rating, it didn’t leave me an impression of a high rated luxury resort. There’s a total of 246 rooms. A Deluxe Room is about 400++ per night during peak season, and it can go as low as RM200++ during off peak. Continue reading “Best Western Premier Ion Delemen Resort @ Genting Highlands”
My BFF can be quite a selective eater, especially when it comes to Chinese cuisine. If I ever suggest any of those common Chinese restaurants in Bangsar, she would say things like “So sien (boring), I know how to make that also lah!” or “Outside food is so unhealthy, everything contains MSG and it’s not even nice. I can cook better than that, with less salt and no sugar. We use all the high quality ingredients. Eat at home!”. Very susah (difficult) like this. I would leave it for her to decide where and what most of the time, not unless if I’m dying for a bowl of Assam Laksa. Continue reading “Shun De Gong Restaurant @ Fahrenheit 88, Bukit Bintang”
Most of us like to head up to Genting Highlands because of its cool climate and its short drive from Kuala Lumpur city. Some fond memories I have of Genting Highlands is the “bumper car” rides in the amusement park where my parents used to take my brother and I. Another was when one of my best friends took me to watch Jordan Chan (陳小春) live in concert during our high school days. Also, that time when my mom brought me to look see (and played a couple of rounds of roulette) in the casino for the first time when I turned 18. Besides that, there’s not much I can recall of since I’ve not been up over the past 6 years. Continue reading “SkyAvenue @ Genting Highlands”
It seems like everyone’s raving about the famous lobster chain from London, Burger & Lobster that opened its doors a few months ago in SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. My social media feed was flooded since (still is) with pictures from Burger & Lobster, literally every single week. I had been wanting to find out what was all the buzz as I really love lobsters. Plus, I haven’t been back to Genting Highlands for more than 6 years. So we took the opportunity of a long Labour Day weekend, and made plans to go up the highlands for a couple of nights to 吃喝玩樂 (eat, drink and be merry). My main itinerary was to eat that lobster!
