Best Western Premier Ion Delemen Resort @ Genting Highlands

Best Western Premier Ion Delemen is the latest resort up in the hills of Genting Highlands. It is a new development just a few kilometers from activities such as golf, casino, shopping, theme park and more. Although it has a 5-star rating, it didn’t leave me an impression of a high rated luxury resort. There’s a total of 246 rooms. A Deluxe Room is about 400++ per night during peak season, and it can go as low as RM200++ during off peak.

The resort wasn’t too bad overall. I actually had a good feel of it when we first arrived as there were ample amount of parking space, free of charge for guests. The lobby was clean and the Front Desk Officers were also friendly. There were also long cushion seats at the lobby lounge, also known as Beanz Cafe, for guests waiting to check-in.

After checking in, we were given directions to our room and coffee house for breakfast. To me, it was unclear as the hotel staff were speaking so fast. The layout of the property was also confusing. We were also meant to use different elevators to connect to our rooms and the common areas. I’ve already checked out by the time I got used to this building layout!

The room at Best Western Premier Ion Delemen was spacious and so was the bathroom. It had complete room amenities with all the essential bathroom toiletries as well. There’s even balcony attached to the room for those who like to step out to enjoy the cool crisp air. Free wifi was available but we find it pointless due to its poor connectivity. It can get a little bit noisy during the day from the on-going construction and development happening around its surroundings.

Best Western Premier Ion Delemen is a family friendly resort. Thus, this might not the best choice for a romantic getaway. It has an indoor pool which was pretty nice actually, but I had no chance of using since the whole place was super crowded with kids. The gym was good though, complete with modern fitness equipment.

There’s 6 F&B outlets in total, where breakfast was served in the coffee house known as Kembali Kitchen. It was very busy both mornings during our stay since the hotel was fully occupied. Decent buffet spread, but please don’t set too high expectations.

The Oasis Pool Bar on the Sky Garden looks like a decent one for a relaxing evening drink and some light bites after soaking up in the pool.

What was good about Best Western Premier Ion Delemen:

  • Family friendly resort (indoor heated swimming pool, kids pool)
  • Complete room and bathroom amenities
  • Suitable for large groups such as company trips or events (meeting rooms, pillar-less grand ballroom fits 400 pax)
  • Free parking
  • Few kilometers away from Resorts World Genting (SkyAvenue, Casino)

What was bad about Best Western Premier Ion Delemen:

  • Poor wifi connectivity
  • Way too busy (not advisable for an intimate getaway)
  • Inconvenient without having your own car to travel between local attractions and resort (resort is a new and secluded area)
  • Disruptive noise in the room during the day from the on-going construction and development at the resort’s surrounding
