Bottega Mediterranea are importers of Southern European food and wine. They supply mainly to restaurants and hotels, but have now started expanding to supermarkets as well. It is situated on the ground floor of a bungalow unit right next to Neroteca and Bijan restaurant along Jalan Ceylon to be exact. In between all the happening F&B outlets and residentials in Changkat Bukit Bintang.
Just recently, Bottega Mediterranea has converted their used-to-be warehouse into a retail for those who want to pick up some Italian ingredients and fresh meat. Or else, it is also a deli if you simply want to dine-in for some cold cuts, sandwiches, pizza and vino.
Good news for those who prefer convenience, Bottega Mediterranea offers free home delivery for purchase above RM100 with just a few easy clicks away through their website or call if you really have to (Klang Valley only). As for walk-ins, you may request to sample the cheese and cured meat upon purchasing.
I managed to try some Italian and Spanish cold cuts from the Chacuterie Platter (Lomo Iberico, Cecinas Beef, Porchetta, Salame Milano, etc.), priced at RM50++. It came with 3 different cheeses (Pecorino Sardo, Grana Padano and Toma DOP), also together with some really delicious side dishes such as Bomba Calabrese which translates to spicy tomato sauce, Porcini Mushroom and Pickled Eggplant. All these delightful cured meat were perfectly accompanied by some Pinot Grigio (RM23++/glass) that evening.
Their lunch set is priced from RM23, comes with a drink and dessert. The Strawberry Sorbet is a must try if you enjoy sour citrus flavours. A beautiful digestive aid I must say. Otherwise for something sweeter, their Profiteroles (made of chocolate ice cream on pastry) were delightful.
What was good about Bottega Mediterranea:
- One-stop shop for high quality Italian food products and wine
- You may sample the cured meat and cheese before purchasing (in-store)
- Home delivery services available (for purchase above RM100)
- Prices are reasonable
What was bad about Bottega Mediterranea:
- Not many table/seats for dine-in
- Very limited parking spaces within the property (might have to park on the road side or open space car park in the vicinity)
MISSGETABOUT SCORE: 8/10
