It was a drizzly and cloudy Sunday evening. The kind of weather where you feel like curling up and snuggle under sheets while watching your favourite TV show. But not me. This was the perfect weather to go places. So I opened Safari to search for a decent café serving dinner (out of Bangsar), called an Uber, brought my laptop and head straight over to Jeq In The House at Section 17. Last week, I came across Nadodi restaurant from an acquaintance’s facebook page. So me being me, I (obviously) clicked on the post to check out some pictures and also the restaurant’s page. The visual images caught my attention and I couldn’t wait to try. The impatient me went to Nadodi that evening, regardless of the fact it was still their soft launch. I knew I was in for an intriguing evening as soon as I entered the restaurant. Not only because the place looked elegant, but we were also warmly welcomed and greeted by staff of Nadodi carrying amicable smiles on their faces. The newly opened DC Mall has a few very popular restaurants which might be familiar to most, namely; Erawan, Soleil, Canton Fare, and Tifin by Kumar’s Restaurant or just Kumar’s as better known by most. As of date, there’s not many outlets open, but I’m sure this mall will soon be filled up with plenty of eateries worth visiting. So for now, let’s stick to the ones that are available. The last time I remember eating at Kumar’s was more than 2 years back at their outlet in Oasis Ara Damansara which was a little far out (for me), although the food was very tasty. Now that Tifin by Kumar’s Restaurant is less than 5 minutes away from home, more reasons to savour some spicy flavourful curry. Even the sound of it entices me! It was one of those late evenings when I asked my friends if they were interested for a nightcap at this speakeasy bar in Bangsar after dinner. The name was AD Bar, in short for Anno Domini. We had to call AD Bar a couple of times asking for directions. It was next door to OJO Coffee in Telawi Bangsar, where you can find the dark stairs with yellow lighted hand rails. Walk all the way up and you will see two doors. It’s the door in front of you, not on your left. Then slide open to enter into AD Bar. Continue reading “AD Bar @ Telawi Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur”
Instead of my regular salad wrap and cold pressed juice after a sweat sesh at Kiara Hill on a Saturday morning, I went to Common Man CoffeeRoastersfor a try since I’ve seen some photos of this cafe on Instagram. Lucky thing it was only 2 minutes away from Kiara Hill by foot. CMCR was originally established in Singapore but now has expanded into Malaysia opening its first outlet here in TTDI Kuala Lumpur, offering a full menu (brunch up ’til dinner) and some seriously tasty coffee. Kebaya Dining Room is a restaurant that’s part of Seven Terraces Hotel along Stewart Lane, Penang serving modern Peranakan and Indo-Chinese cuisine. Each guest is served a 4 course meal at about RM120++ per pax including choices from starters, main course, vegetables and dessert. Each serving was portioned in a generous amount. I’d suggest to order different dishes and share-share with your friends, so you’ll get a variety and able try a bit of everything.
